We are seeking an Integration & Test Technician who is excited to apply their experience assembling and testing space flight hardware, running experiments, and supporting general lab activities at a dynamic and growing aerospace company.

Support the assembly, integration, and test of space flight hardware & software systems.
​

Assist in research and development of assembly, integration, and test processes, procedures, and testbeds.
​

Maintain, organize, and calibrate optical cleanroom facilities, vacuum chambers, ESD workstations, specialized tooling, and ground support equipment (GSE).
​

Support thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, functional, and optical characterization testing of spaceflight camera sensors.
​
-
Support engineers with creation and execution of experiments and trade studies related to cameras, lenses, processors, test apparatus, simulation software, and other systems.
​

Perform soldering, crimping, and harness fabrication in accordance with spaceflight standards.
​

Closely follow safety and lab processes (e.g., ESD safe, cleanroom), and work with the team to improve processes.
​

Build, update, and follow detailed assembly and test procedures (As-Built documentation, non-conformance reports (NCRs), redlines, and traveler logs).
​

Potential to provide guidance and technical oversight to junior technicians.

Able to work in-person at our lab in Annapolis, MD. Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

4+ years of hands-on experience as an I&T technician working directly with spaceflight hardware.
​

Expertise using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, height gauges) and electrical test gear (multimeters, oscilloscopes, ESD meters).
​

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot solutions for complex hardware and software challenges.
​
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
​
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
​
-
Attention to detail and a high level of precision is required, particularly in executing and annotating predefined assembly and test procedures.
​

Hands-on experience with handling space-grade adhesives, epoxies (e.g., Stycast, Arathane, Scotchweld), torque specs, and staking practices.
​

Experience working in ISO Class 5/7 cleanrooms and strict ESD-protected areas.
​
-
Direct experience assembling delicate electro-optical payloads, image sensors, or optical elements.
​

Active or prior certifications in industry spaceflight manufacturing standards:

NASA-STD-8739 or IPC-J-STD-001FS (Space Addendum Soldering)

NASA-STD-8739.4 or IPC-WHMA-A-620 (Crimping, Cable, & Harnessing)

Programming experience using languages such as Python and C/C++.

Experience with computer vision techniques and equipment.
​

Experience working in ESD safe and cleanroom environments.
​

Previous experience supporting spaceflight integration and test.
​

Experience supporting TVAC and/or vibration testing for space hardware.
​

Experience performing optical measurements, including Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) testing.
​

Experience performing radiometric and photometric measurements (e.g., flat-field, blemish, SNR, or uniformity analysis).
​

Experience working with optical stimulators, collimators, or other projection/relay systems.
​

Experience executing geometric camera calibration using standard tools (checkerboard or ChAruco targets and OpenCV-based workflows).
​

Experience identifying, tracking, and mitigating Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and contamination on optical components.
​

Basic understanding of camera controls and sensor behavior (exposure, gain, frame rate, pixel saturation, and noise considerations).
