Ten One Aerospace is seeking a Spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our growing team. You will join a dynamic group supporting mission analysis and technology development for multiple customers. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and will have taken courses related to orbital mechanics, spacecraft dynamics, and estimation. Previous experience in spacecraft GNC, rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD), and flight or ground software development is an advantage.

Design, develop, and maintain embedded C/C++ flight software for guidance, navigation, control, and sensor data processing in support of spacecraft RPOD.

Design, develop, and maintain simulation models in C/C++ and Python to support GNC system performance evaluation in software, processor, and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.

Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks or embedded Linux.

Develop and integrate software for spacecraft avionics, sensors, GNC systems, and communication systems.

Implement software unit tests and integration tests using GoogleTest, PyTest, or similar frameworks.

Develop build systems and integration pipelines using CMake and GitLab CI/CD tools.

Interface with spacecraft hardware through communication protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP, UART, and SpaceWire.

Collaborate with systems engineers, GNC engineers, and hardware teams to define software requirements and interfaces.

Document software designs, test procedures, and verification results.

Participate in critical design and code reviews and support spacecraft integration and test campaigns.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering discipline.

M.S. in Aerospace Engineering or 4+ years of experience in spacecraft GNC is preferred.

Ability to work with multidisciplinary and distributed teams.

Desire to work in a small, fast-paced, and innovative aerospace company.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Desired Skills

Experience in spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control system development.

Experience in spacecraft attitude control system development.

Experience in spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking systems.

Experience developing software in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.

Current security clearances or ability to obtain clearances.

Location: Remote with <10% travel, mostly to Ten One Aerospace's facility in Annapolis, Maryland.
