We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our exciting and innovative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including power, thermal control, communication, and propulsion, along with knowledge of relevant standards from NASA, ESA, DoD, and ISO.

In this role, you will coordinate between various engineering teams to ensure subsystem compatibility and optimal performance. You will design system architectures that meet functional and performance criteria while leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. Your expertise in electrical and data interfaces between subsystems will be crucial as you identify potential technical risks, including the impacts of space flight environments, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Experience in designing systems with redundancy and fail-safes is essential to ensure mission success.

B.S. in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline

M.S. in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or 4+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering is preferred

Ability to work with multidisciplinary and distributed teams

Desire to work in a small, fast-paced, and innovative aerospace company

Understanding of spacecraft subsystems like power, thermal control, communication, and propulsion, as well as NASA, ESA, DoD, Industry, or ISO standards relevant to spacecraft.

Ability to coordinate between different engineering teams to ensure subsystem compatibility and optimal performance.

Knowledge of electrical and data interfaces between the subsystems and other spacecraft systems.
​

Skills in identifying potential technical risks and developing mitigation strategies.
​

Understanding of RPO mechanics and operations.
​

Experience with space system assembly, integration, and test activities to include test execution, creation of test plans and procedures for requirement verification, and familiarity with GSFC-STD-7000 and SMC-S-016.
​

Experience in designing systems with redundancy and fail-safes to ensure mission success, as well as analyzing system failures and implementing corrective actions.
​

Ability to design system architectures that meet functional and performance criteria.
​

Experience creating and managing space system technical requirements, budgets, and interface control documents.
​

Strong problem-solving skills with practical experience applying root cause analysis methodologies to investigate and mitigate system failures.

Background knowledge of space-based imaging systems to include mission design, image processing, camera calibrations, and lens design.

Ability to create detailed design documents, system specifications, test reports, mission plans, and operational procedures.
​

Experience utilizing JAMA software for system requirements and lifecycle management.
​

Experience developing software in C/C++/Python is preferred.
​

Current security clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
Location: Preferred at Ten One Aerospace’s facility in Annapolis, MD. Remote can be considered based on candidate strength.
